i ♥ faces "Photojournalism"

This week at i ♥ faces the theme is "Photojournalism". My entry is of my middle daughter, Ayva.

In the picture on the left, it shows her in her incubator in the NICU after being born 11 weeks early. It is a picture showing that being born early is and was just the beginning of her struggles. She has had to fight for everything since the moment she was born.

In the picture on the right, it shows Ayva, older than the last picture. She has had to fight so much more than her siblings. You can see the level of pain that was once there in her eyes. I think her eyes are way beyond her years, and that my sweet, innocent, middle child has a look that no child should every wear. A look of overcoming adversity. She is my hero for being so strong and so brave.

i ♥ faces "Celebrating Teens"

This week at i ♥ faces is "Celebrating Teens". I'm lucky because I have a beautiful teen of my very own to take pictures of, my sister, Ashtin.

Her birthday is this Sunday the 27th and I just want to wish her the best 16th birthday anyone could ever have! Love ya sis!
